Captains Product

Welcome to the CAPTAINS product, providing English Language training materials and courses, which have been designed and developed specifically for seafarers.
The CAPTAINS product was developed following a language needs analysis of seafarers and Maritime English teachers worldwide, and incorporates:

• -Research driven content, designed around real life situations and scenarios
• -An advanced e-learning platform, KWEBO, that provides an interactive learning environment for Maritime English learners
• -User friendly tools to support communication between the user community, including chat, video conferencing, virtual classrooms and discussion forums
• -Authoring tools including blogs, wikis, podcasts and vidcasts

• Courses available both as offline, standalone courses, and online courses on the e-learning platform, with 2D/3D simulations

The product is available to learners in two mediums. The CAPTAINS CD-ROM contains the standalone CAPTAINS course, which can be used for self-study without any need for an intenet connection. However, by accessing the official CAPTAINS website at http://www.captains.pro, learners can access the course online and simultaneously use the e-learning platform KWEBO, which features a range of communicative tools to facilitate learner collaboration.
